TREASURERS REPORT for AGM, March 4th 2007
As can be seen from the account log, we actually ended up with some funds in the bank after 2006. $1632.73 in the account and a further $200 owed. This is an improvement on last year when we were left with $81.42. All our obligations to the WDF and the CDO were taken care of and all Associations are up to date with the dues and the fees except for Abaco, who owe for the two tournaments indicated. The ministry came good at the last minute on their pledge for $10,000 and Mike and Kim Russell were successful in getting us a $2500 sponsorship from Listerine for Uniforms and shirts. Special forms from the Ministry and requests for the minutes of our AGM, officers and budgets etc were sent off last year and the ministry responded. It’s important that these documents and requests from the ministry are dealt with yearly on a timely basis and the fruits of this have finally paid dividends. Thanks to Tony Moree and Keith Parker for their help with the ministry with this. With trophies and sponsors now being obtained on a local level a lot of pressure has been taken off the BDF as to accounting and procuring same and the Associations are to be thanked for taking on this responsibility once again. We were able once again to get the National Team to the Caribbean Cup in Barbados for two weeks in July 2006, and can once again be proud of our National Representation. Fund raising took place by the Local Associations and by the players individually obtaining sponsors and this seems to work better than anything in securing the funds for such trips. Thanks also to the NDA for assistance with those members from there. Our major expense this year will be the trip to the Netherlands and we will do all we can to ensure that we get sponsors and assist with those who make the squad. The BDF web site is still running and this involves funding to the extent of around $250 per year. By all accounts we should be financially viable this year as we keep moving forward.
